We are proud to announce that Katosi Women Development Trust (KDWT) - our partner who successully realized the Mukono project,
is one of 4 organizations identified by the Ugandan Ministry of Water and Environment to scale up rainwater harvesting.

Almost 11 years ago KWDT initiated an approach in which they scale up access to rainwater harvesting at household level,
through revolving schemes. A revolving scheme is a fund or account that remains available to finance an organization's
continuing operations
, because the organization replenishes the fund by repaying money used from the account.

In Mukono money is used for constructing rainwater harvesting tanks. Because of the availability of water at household level
women can grow crops and sell it to earn money and pay back to the fund.

Last week the Ministry of Water acknowledged the KWDT's effective and successful schemes. The Ministry will support the
KWDT with funding of 44.000 Euro over three years to scale up rainwater harvesting.

A proud moment for all, and a well deserved acknowledgement of their hard work and achievements!
